Regarding Strain Requests
Dr. Blattner retired in July, 2011, and the Blattner lab is closed. Strains, clones, and vectors from its collection are no longer available. Information about their construction continues to be made available for those who obtained strains from us in the past. Anyone who received these materials from us is welcome to redistribute them, so if you see them used in a publication, please contact those authors.
The sequenced E. coli K-12 strain MG1655 is available from both the American Type Culture Collection and the Coli Genetic Stock Center at Yale. Most of the other strains from our genome sequencing projects have also been deposited with ATCC, and genomic DNA from these strains is also available:
